Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reacted to a viral video showing a woman reportedly stranded at Iyana Era along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway, calling for immediate intervention from authorities and the public.
In a statement, the senator expressed deep concern over the woman’s condition, noting that she appears to have lost her memory, possibly due to severe stress-induced mental health distress.
Describing the situation as heartbreaking, Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the Lagos State Government, relevant agencies, and well-meaning Nigerians to act swiftly to ensure the woman receives proper medical attention and care.
She also emphasized the need to secure the safety and welfare of the woman’s children, stressing that they should be protected and kept in a safe environment while efforts are made to assist their mother.
“I call on the authorities and compassionate members of the public to intervene urgently. This is a situation that requires immediate attention and care,” she said.
The lawmaker further stated her willingness to support efforts aimed at helping the woman, adding that her thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her children.
