Atiku Reacts to Supreme Court Ruling on ADC Leadership, Urges Vigilance

Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the recent Supreme Court judgment affirming the leadership of David Mark in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the ruling as a victory for democracy but warning against complacency.

In a statement issued shortly after the judgment, Atiku welcomed the apex court’s decision, noting that it restores clarity and stability within the party after months of internal disputes. He, however, stressed that the ruling should not be seen as the end of the struggle but rather a renewed call to action.

“Even as we welcome the Supreme Court’s firm affirmation of David Mark and the leadership of our great party, the African Democratic Congress, let no one be lulled into complacency. The road ahead remains long in our cause to take back and rescue our country,” he said.

The former presidential candidate emphasized that the victory belongs to Nigerians who continue to demand accountability and good governance, praising citizens for their resilience in the face of political uncertainty.

“This victory belongs to Nigerians, the courageous millions who refuse to surrender their future. We thank them, and we urge them to remain steadfast, because the struggle is far from over,” Atiku added.

He concluded by underscoring the importance of sustained civic engagement, warning that democratic gains must be protected through constant vigilance.
