The Chief Executive Officer of Jonah Capital Nigeria Limited, Mr. Kojo Mensah, has made an emotional appeal to the international community, alleging that Ghanaian investors operating in Nigeria are facing persecution, intimidation, and threats to their lives amid an ongoing property dispute in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking in an interview, the Jonah Capital CEO described what he called a coordinated campaign aimed at crippling the company’s operations, claiming that officials and armed security personnel, alongside unidentified individuals, have repeatedly entered company facilities, disrupted lawful business activities, and created an atmosphere of fear for employees and management.
According to him, the dispute stems from a disagreement over the ownership and development rights of an estate in Abuja—a matter currently before the courts. Despite pursuing legal remedies, he alleged that the company’s assets have continued to be interfered with, including the demolition of the estate’s main entrance gate and the occupation of parts of the development.
“Our greatest concern is no longer just about our investment,” he said. “It is about the safety of our staff, our families, and everyone associated with our business. We fear that if urgent action is not taken, lives could be lost.”
The CEO further alleged that Nyesom Wike and officials under the Federal Capital Territory Administration bear responsibility for actions taken against the company. These allegations have not been proven in court, and the FCT Minister has not publicly responded to the specific claims made during the interview.
