Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has described supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State as “enemies of progress” ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Davido made the statement in a post shared on his X account on Monday, as political activities intensify across the state ahead of the election.

The singer wrote: “Anybody supporting APC in Osun state is an enemy of progress! Lessons will be learnt this weekend.”

The comment comes amid heightened campaign activities by political parties seeking to win the governorship seat.

Davido, who is a nephew of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been actively involved in his uncle’s campaign, using his influence and public platform to mobilise support.

Governor Adeleke is seeking re-election under the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His major challenger is the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Davido has previously participated in campaign rallies and youth mobilisation activities in support of his uncle, while consistently expressing his backing for Adeleke’s administration and criticising opposition parties.

His latest comment is expected to generate further reactions as the state heads into the final days of campaigning before the August 15 poll.
