Nigerian singer Mr Real has spoken out on the rape allegation reportedly involving fellow entertainer Poco Lee, expressing confidence in his innocence while recounting his own experience with a similar incident in the United Kingdom.
Mr Real, while reacting to the allegation, claimed that he was certain Poco Lee did not commit the alleged offence.
He also shared an account of an incident involving one of his event organisers in the UK, alleging that girls were invited to his event and that a situation involving an attempted physical advance nearly resulted in a serious allegation.
According to Mr Real, the incident was eventually settled after he paid £10,000.
The singer further alleged that some music promoters work closely with girls invited to artistes’ events, suggesting that such arrangements can sometimes expose entertainers to serious disputes and allegations.
His comments come amid reports surrounding the alleged arrest of Poco Lee in the UK over a reported rape allegation. However, details of the case, including the circumstances surrounding the allegation and whether formal charges have been filed, remain unclear.
Mr Real’s remarks have added another dimension to the controversy, as the music industry continues to react to the allegations and the risks Nigerian entertainers face during international engagements.
