
American-Canadian singer Celine Dion has mourned the passing of legendary country music icon Dolly Parton, describing her as “pure light” and praising her kindness, generosity and remarkable musical legacy.
In an emotional tribute, Dion reflected on Parton’s impact on the world, saying her death means the world will be “missing one of the most joyful voices this world has ever known.”
“Dolly…you were pure light, with a kind heart and a generous spirit. We will now be missing one of the most joyful voices this world has ever known,” Dion wrote.
She thanked the late singer for the music, laughter and love she shared with millions of people throughout her career.
“Thank you for the music, the laughter, and the love you gave us all. We will always love you. Rest in peace, Dolly,” Dion added.
Parton, one of the most celebrated figures in country music, was widely admired for her distinctive voice, songwriting, philanthropy and decades-long contribution to the entertainment industry.
