Russia-Ukraine War: Deadly Strike Hits Kamianske as Ceasefire Push Faces Fresh Test

Russia-Ukraine War

At least four people have been killed and five others injured after a Russian strike hit the southeastern Ukrainian city of Kamianske, authorities said on Saturday.

According to Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, a 30-year-old woman was among those wounded and is currently receiving intensive medical treatment.

The attack came amid continued long-range missile and drone exchanges between Russia and Ukraine, underscoring the persistent violence as diplomatic efforts intensify.

The latest escalation also comes against the backdrop of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for a temporary ceasefire. The proposed pause is expected to coincide with the anticipated visit of US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who are leading diplomatic efforts on behalf of US President Donald Trump to find a pathway toward ending the war.

Trump has said the two envoys have presented a proposal aimed at breaking the diplomatic deadlock between Moscow and Kyiv.
