A Catholic priest has died after a large wooden crucifix fell from a church wall and struck him on the head during a livestreamed Mass in Ecuador.
Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari was conducting a service at the Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro church in Guayaquil on Saturday when the cross suddenly detached and fell onto him.
The incident was captured on camera approximately 27 minutes into the service, leaving worshippers screaming and rushing to help.
