Veteran Nigerian entertainer and activist, Charly Boy, has called for a “New Nigeria” where human lives are valued, leadership is focused on service and citizens can live with dignity.
Charly Boy made the call while expressing his desire for a country where Nigerians no longer have to struggle for basic necessities, fear seeking medical care or leave the country in search of better opportunities.
He said he wants a Nigeria where mothers can access healthcare without worrying about whether they can afford to survive, while families can live without the constant fear of losing loved ones.
According to him, government decisions should not turn ordinary citizens into “casualties,” adding that Nigerians should not have to run from the very people and institutions responsible for protecting them.
Charly Boy also lamented the continued departure of young Nigerians in search of greener pastures, saying the country should provide an environment where young people can build meaningful and fulfilling lives.
He further called for leadership centred on service rather than oppression and mediocrity.
“I want my country back,” Charly Boy declared, stressing that the Nigeria he desires is not merely the one politicians describe from podiums, but the country Nigerians dream of, the country their parents believed in and the country future generations deserve.
He added that despite the challenges facing the nation, he still wants to love Nigeria, but believes the country must become “worthy of that love.”
