BNXN Reveals Asake Turned Down His Project After Rema Was Mentioned

BNXN, Asake

Nigerian singer BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has revealed that fellow artiste Asake declined to feature on his upcoming project after learning that Rema would also be part of it.

BNXN made the revelation during an Instagram Live session after previewing artificial intelligence versions of Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Rema and Asake for the upcoming project.

According to BNXN, he initially reached out to Asake and asked him to appear on the project. He said Asake initially declined because they had released a collaboration less than two months earlier.

BNXN explained that Asake told him he rarely collaborates with the same artiste twice in a year unless the project is a joint effort, adding that he was concerned their recent collaboration could underperform.

The singer said he pleaded with Asake because he genuinely wanted another collaboration with him, and Asake eventually agreed.

However, BNXN claimed that Asake changed his mind after he mentioned that Rema would also feature on the project.

He said he was unaware of any disagreement between Asake and Rema and had previously believed that the tension was only between their respective fan bases.

BNXN stressed that his comments were not intended as disrespect towards Asake, saying he only recently became aware that the two artistes were reportedly not on good terms.

He subsequently informed fans that Asake would not be appearing on the upcoming project, although he revealed that the pair still have another single expected to be released after the project.
