Nigerian comedian and actress Real Warri Pikin has publicly apologised after a viral video showing her on stage with singer Timaya during his performance at an event sparked reactions online.
In a video message, the entertainer appealed to Nigerians to forgive her, saying she takes full responsibility for what happened.
She explained that she was backstage enjoying Timaya’s performance when the singer invited a woman to join him on stage during his performance of his hit song, Ukwu.
According to Real Warri Pikin, she was caught up in the excitement and immediately went out on stage without knowing what would happen next.
“I no know say if Timaya wan perform that him song, Ukwu, him must bring woman come out outside make him carry am. I no know. I dey backstage dey vibe when e dey perform when he say make a lady come out,” she said.
She added that she initially resisted when Timaya asked her to participate in the performance, but eventually went along with it after he insisted.
“If you watch the full video, you go see where I dey beg am. I was very reluctant. Him say no oo. Na you come outside o. No spoil my performance. Na him I do am o,” she explained.
Real Warri Pikin repeatedly apologised to her fans and Nigerians, stressing that she did not anticipate the situation before stepping onto the stage.
She also revealed that the incident had upset fellow entertainer Ikechukwu, whom she said was currently far away from her because she is in the United States.
“Like this now Ikechukwu dey vex for me and you know say I dey America, e too far,” she added.
