Anambra Police Seek Public Help To Reunite Four-year-old Boy Found Wandering In Okpoko With Family

Ifedimma Emmanuel

The Anambra State Police Command has appealed to members of the public for assistance in identifying and reuniting a four-year-old boy with his family after he was found wandering along Anatanaba Road, Okpoko.

The child, who identified himself as Ifedimma Emmanuel, was found on the evening of September 18, 2026, during a joint evening foot patrol by police operatives attached to the Okpoko Police Division and members of the Okpoko Vigilante Group.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the boy was unable to provide sufficient information about his parents, guardians, home address or other details that could help the authorities trace his family.

The Police said the child is currently in its safe custody, where his welfare and safety are being adequately attended to while efforts continue to locate his parents or relatives.

The Command has therefore called on parents, guardians, relatives and residents who may recognise the child or have useful information about his family to immediately contact the Okpoko Police Division or the Anambra State Police Command, Awka.

The Police assured the public that the child’s safety and welfare remain a priority and that necessary steps are being taken to facilitate his safe and timely reunification with his family.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, issued the appeal on September 19, 2026.
