Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has congratulated the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), South-East Region 6 Headquarters, Amuzukwu, Umuahia, on its 29th anniversary.
Otti delivered the congratulatory message on Sunday, September 27, 2026, as the Special Guest at the anniversary celebration held at the church’s headquarters in Umuahia.
The governor described the 29-year milestone as a testament to sustained commitment, sacrifice and service to God. He also commended the church for its steady growth and acknowledged the contributions of its leadership over the years.
Otti noted that three Regional Overseers had served the church during its 29-year history and prayed for continued growth and greater impact.
The governor also used the occasion to commend Abians for what he described as a growing culture of civic responsibility, particularly in environmental cleanliness and compliance with public regulations.
He recounted an incident involving a visitor to Umuahia who witnessed a motorist improperly disposing of waste and saw security personnel promptly intervene and compel the offender to retrieve it.
According to Otti, such actions, alongside the orderly conduct of motorists at traffic lights, indicate a positive shift in public attitudes towards government regulations.
Our people are very good people. Very hardworking people. Honest people. That’s who we are,” the governor said.
While acknowledging that isolated cases of wrongdoing could occur in any society, Otti urged Abians to remain committed to responsible citizenship.
He also encouraged the congregation and residents of the state not to lose hope in the face of present challenges, stressing the importance of resilience and perseverance.
Things may look difficult today. But hard times don’t last. Tough people do,” Otti said.
Earlier, the Regional Overseer of MFM South-East Region 6, Pastor Olugbenga Aremu, delivered a sermon titled “Anointing for Success.”
Aremu charged Christians to remain focused, resilient and committed to their purpose, noting that challenges could serve as preparation for greater responsibilities.
He described anointing as God’s empowerment, authority and grace for fulfilling purpose, drawing lessons from biblical accounts of anointing and divine elevation.
The pastor also commended Governor Otti for what he described as visible transformation across Abia State, particularly in road infrastructure and other sectors.
The anniversary celebration featured the cutting of the anniversary cake and was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Meribeole; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D.; Mayor of Umuahia North, Hon. Smart Ihuoma; and other government officials and dignitaries.
