Israel DMW, aide to Nigerian music star Davido, has dismissed rumours alleging that the singer is secretly working with the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the claims as fabricated stories aimed at generating social media traffic.
In a statement addressing the speculation, Israel urged Nigerians to disregard the reports, insisting that Davido had not changed his political stance.
He claimed that the singer had rejected several offers worth millions of dollars to endorse any presidential candidate, maintaining that Davido remained committed to standing with Nigerians amid the economic challenges facing the country.
“Dearest Nigerians. Kindly disregard the useless rumours going around that Oga has been secretly or currently working for the APC. All are totally fabricated lies to gain social media traffic,” Israel stated.
He further maintained that Davido had consistently expressed his desire to stand with ordinary Nigerians who are going through difficult times, adding that the singer had no intention of betraying their trust.
According to Israel, Davido’s position remains unchanged despite the rumours circulating on social media.
He also questioned what more Nigerians expected from the singer, given his alleged refusal to accept financial offers to support presidential candidates.
The statement has added to the ongoing conversations surrounding Davido’s political leanings and the relationship between Nigerian entertainers and political parties.
