Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has expressed frustration over Nigeria’s persistent electricity crisis, questioning why the country continues to grapple with unreliable power supply in 2026 despite years of efforts to address the challenge.
Henshaw lamented that electricity supply in many parts of the country has become so erratic that power sometimes lasts for only five minutes before going off.
She noted that the situation has forced many Nigerian households to become increasingly dependent on alternative sources of electricity, including petrol generators and solar energy, to carry out basic daily activities.
“There’s no light. Sometimes, electricity only lasts for five minutes. Imagine that in 2026, Nigeria is still struggling with the problem of inadequate electricity supply,” she lamented.
The actress further observed that homes were gradually turning into factories, as residents are now compelled to generate their own electricity to meet their everyday needs.
