…As Commissioners Mefor, Onyekesi pledge support for FYA’s value reformation and empowerment initiatives
The Founder of Female Youth, Anambra State, Njikoka Chapter, Prophetess Princess Bibiana Nwankwo, popularly known as Ada APGA, Ada Ife, has called for stronger collaboration with the Anambra State Government to promote female youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and positive social values across the state.

Prophetess Nwankwo made the call when she led members of the organisation’s executive team on a courtesy visit to the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, at his office in the Anambra State Secretariat, Awka, on November 3, 2026.
She said the organisation, established in 2014, had remained committed to improving the lives of young women through educational interventions, empowerment programmes and youth sensitisation, largely supported by the voluntary contributions of its professional members.

According to her, the organisation is seeking government partnership to expand its activities and reach more young women across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State.
The Female Youth founder identified drug abuse, alcohol misuse, negative social influences, school dropout and economic dependence as some of the challenges confronting young women, stressing the need for deliberate interventions to help them become responsible, productive and financially independent.
She emphasised the importance of encouraging young women to embrace entrepreneurship and self-reliance, noting that they could start businesses with whatever little resources were available to them and gradually build sustainable livelihoods.
Prophetess Nwankwo maintained that empowering the female youth was essential to building stronger families, safer communities and a more prosperous Anambra State.
Responding, Commissioner Mefor assured the delegation of the Ministry’s readiness to partner with the organisation, describing its objectives as consistent with the ministry’s expanded mandate of Value Reformation.
He noted that infrastructural development must be complemented by investment in human character, responsible citizenship and positive behavioural change to ensure sustainable development.
The Commissioner identified cultism, drug abuse and internet fraud among the social vices requiring collective efforts and sustained public sensitisation.
He disclosed that the Ministry had established the Coalition of the Willing, a platform comprising technical personnel, individual experts and non-governmental organisations working towards attitude change and behavioural modification.
Mefor promised to integrate Female Youth into the coalition and make the Ministry’s programme document available to the organisation for review and contributions.
He also announced plans for a radio sensitisation programme under the Ministry’s Value Reformation initiative, known as MALUMEBE, which would be anchored by the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, with other radio stations expected to join the broadcast.
The Commissioner further highlighted the development initiatives of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration, stressing that citizens, particularly young people, must develop the right values to protect and sustain the state’s investments and development achievements.
He commended the Female Youth organisation for its commitment to youth development and assured its members of the government’s willingness to support initiatives that promote responsible citizenship and social transformation.
In her remarks, Prophetess Nwankwo expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for receiving the delegation and welcomed the proposed collaboration, describing it as an important opportunity to strengthen the organisation’s empowerment and sensitisation efforts.
She also disclosed that the organisation had appointed Dr. Mefor as its patron.
In a related development, the delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi, where they sought the ministry’s support and collaboration towards advancing the organisation’s female youth empowerment programmes.

Mrs. Onyekesi warmly received the delegation and assured the organisation of her full support, expressing her readiness to work with it in promoting the welfare, empowerment and development of young women across the state.
She also accepted the organisation’s request to serve as its matron, a development described as a significant boost to its efforts to strengthen advocacy, empowerment and social welfare initiatives for female youths in Anambra.
The proposed partnerships with both commissioners are expected to strengthen efforts towards female youth empowerment, behavioural reformation, entrepreneurship and the promotion of positive values among young women across Anambra State.
