The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has assured supporters that more appointments will be made as the party continues to expand its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The council’s Director of Strategic Communication, Phrank Shaibu, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, stressing that the recently released list of appointments should not be regarded as the final composition of the campaign team.
According to Shaibu, consultations are still ongoing, with additional responsibilities expected to be assigned as the campaign establishes its presence across the country.
He also sought to reassure party members and supporters who were not included in the first batch of appointments, saying their years of loyalty and commitment had not been overlooked.
“Atiku Abubakar remains deeply conscious of the sacrifices made by those who have stood with him over the years. Loyalty is remembered. Sacrifice is respected. Friendship is valued,” Shaibu said.
He urged those who may have been disappointed by the initial appointments to remain patient, noting that the campaign would continue to accommodate more people as its structure develops.
Shaibu said the emerging campaign team would bring together experienced political leaders, professionals, young Nigerians, loyal party members and other citizens willing to contribute to the campaign.
He disclosed that zonal and state campaign structures, additional senior appointments and grassroots structures reaching wards and polling units would be unveiled in the coming days.
Beyond its political organisation, Shaibu said the campaign was also developing a policy framework focused on major national challenges, including the cost of living, food security, insecurity, electricity, employment, industrialisation, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, governance and technology.
He said the campaign’s approach would be to develop practical policy responses to the various challenges facing Nigerians rather than treating the problems in isolation.
“This is a people-driven national campaign,” Shaibu said, adding that the structure would continue to expand by bringing together Nigerians who are willing to contribute to the effort.
The development comes as the ADC continues preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with Atiku Abubakar emerging as the party’s presidential candidate.
