Anambra Election: Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Sues For Peace, Transparency And Credibility

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah

As part of efforts to ensure a hitch free and credible governorship election process in Anambra State, yesterday, I joined fellow candidates contesting in the November 6, 2021 Governorship election to sign a Peace Accord organized by the National Peace Committee led by its Chairman, former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar.

The signing of this peace accord reaffirms my commitment to fully abide by the Constitution to support a peaceful, transparent and credible electoral process. According to the details of the peace accord, we wholeheartedly agreed to provide a conducive environment for a smooth electoral process, while adhering to the guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Therefore, the signing of this Peace Acord is not a mere exercise but a clarion call for all the candidates, political parties and all Anambrarians to commit themselves to a peaceful process. I hereby urge my fellow candidates, voters, party stakeholders and security agencies to commit to the spirit of this accord while also remembering that the violators of this accord are putting their integrity on the line.

Conclusively, it is my expectation that as we all come out to exercise our franchise tomorrow; Saturday, November 6, 2021, everyone will work towards upholding a peaceful election process to ensure full enthronement of peace in Anambra state during and after the election.

Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ubah
Anambra South Senatorial District.
