The Anambra State Police Command has assured residents, estate communities and non-indigenes living and doing business in the state of its commitment to protecting lives and property, urging them to promptly report suspicious activities to security operatives.
The assurance was given by the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, during a meeting with the Association of All Chairmen of 3-3 Estate and the Association of Non-Indigenes in Anambra State on Monday, October 19, 2026.
The meeting focused on strengthening police-community relations, improving intelligence gathering and enhancing cooperation between residents and security agencies to prevent crime and maintain peace across the state.
During the engagement, CP Ama encouraged residents from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds to remain vigilant and support security efforts by providing credible information that could assist the Police in identifying and preventing criminal activities.
He emphasised that security was a collective responsibility and called on estate associations, community leaders and other stakeholders to maintain regular communication with the Police.
The commissioner also reassured non-indigenes that the Command remained committed to protecting all law-abiding residents and business owners in Anambra State, irrespective of their state of origin or cultural background.
As part of efforts to improve access to police assistance, CP Ama reiterated the availability of a dedicated WhatsApp security line, 09169531886, through which residents can report security concerns, share credible intelligence and request police intervention.
He urged members of the public to use the channel responsibly, noting that timely and reliable information could help security operatives respond more effectively to emerging threats.
The Command further called on estate associations, non-indigene groups, community leaders and residents to sustain their collaboration with law enforcement agencies, stressing that effective information sharing and community participation were essential to crime prevention.
The development underscores the Anambra Police Command’s emphasis on community-based policing and stakeholder engagement as part of efforts to strengthen security and promote peaceful coexistence across the state.
The statement was issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on October 19, 2026.
