The Anambra State Police Command has said it continues to enjoy increasing public confidence and stakeholder support following a courtesy visit by retired Inspector-General of Police, Simon Okoiro, and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Chief Simon Okeke.
The visit took place at the Command Headquarters in Awka on Friday, July 31, 2026, where the distinguished visitors were received by the Commissioner of Police, recently promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Ikioye Orutugu, alongside members of the Command’s management team and other senior officers.
Also part of the delegation was Dr. Michael Ibeh, a former Permanent Secretary of the Police Service Commission.
According to the Anambra State Police Command, the visit highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the Police, respected leaders, and other stakeholders in strengthening security, improving public trust, and advancing effective policing across the state.
The Command described the visit as a strong vote of confidence in its ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, intelligence-led policing, and community partnership in the fight against crime and the maintenance of public safety.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to deepening engagement with stakeholders and residents in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police to build a more people-oriented, accountable, and responsive Police Force.
