Tension has erupted in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, as reports emerged of widespread harassment of party agents during the ongoing Anambra South senatorial by-election.
At Ward 4, Units 001 and 003, the Mayor of the Local Government was alleged to have arrested agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Similarly, in Ward 4, Unit 008, the President-General of the community reportedly apprehended another APC agent.
A similar incident was also recorded in Oraifite Ward 1, where the President-General allegedly arrested an APC agent at the polling unit.
The development has heightened tension across the affected areas, with party supporters accusing community leaders of interfering in the electoral process. Security operatives have been urged to step in to restore order and ensure a level playing field for all parties.
