The recent concluded election in Anambra State saw Labour Party of Mr Peter Obi coming distant 4 with a paltry 10,000 votes. Many Political observers have been trying to find out what really transpired in the election. Why such abysmal performance by Labour Party? The question everyone has been asking, was Labour Party and George Moghalu, the Flag bearer of Labour party in the race? Was he a serious Contender or a Pretender? The Labour Party Candidate even lost his Polling unit. That loss in his polling booth, at his Nnewi hometown, is a clear indication that he is a pretender, sent to waste the labour party ticket.
Prior to Labour Party Primary, There were a lot shenanigans in the Party that made many Stakeholders lose interest in the Party. When the Party announced its guidelines for the Primary, Mr Abure was alleged to have collected the sum of N300,000,000.00 from Chief George Moghalu and promised him the ticket of the Party. Other Aspirants who had interest were shut out from the race. They were denied nomination Form and Expression of Interest Form on the pretext that Labour Party is doing zoning. Which has turned out to be lies. Even Mr Valentine Ozigbo had to leave Labour Party.
Throughout the campaign, many Labour Party Stakeholders stayed out and boycotted the Candidate and its campaigns because they believed his Aspiration was not genuine. Those who stayed to work for the party were sidelined by Dr George Muoghalu in order to achieve the purpose of disgracing the National leader of the party. A situation where he totally sidelined the elected officials of the party, including the state chairman of the party is despicable.It also lacked the legitimacy of the Labour movement Members and they are not ready to compromise to support him.
We all know that Labour Party has two Senators and 6 House of Representatives Members in the National Assembly , with over 7 State House of Assembly Members and Mr Peter Obi, the Face of Labour Party Movement in the Country. During campaigns, Notably absentees from Labour Party Campaign in the State were Senator Tony Nwoye, Senator Victor Umeh and other representatives who were sidelined in the campaign.
During Campaigns, it was clear that Labour Party was in serious disarray and The Labour Party Candidate was not serious for the party to win. Indications emerged that he compromised, to the extent that Governor Soludo openly mocked him, and he celebrated the mockery.
Days before the main Election, it became clearer that Chief George Moghalu was a Pretender not a contender. Security reports proved that Labour Party and George Moghalu was not in the race to win but as a Placeholder. He has already sold out and compromised the Party Ticket. Even Obidients and Mr Peter Obi was not carried along in the Campaign. The glaring aspect of the Campaign Mess was absence of Mr Peter Obi during Chief George Moghalu Campaign in Agulu.
Many Stakeholders of Labour Party were astonished to learn that Labour Party Candidate, Chief George Moghalu, did not inform Mr Peter Obi of the Agulu Campaign. He did not call him to inform him of that Rally in Agulu even when Mr Peter Obi was in Anambra.
This has been the way he treated elected officials of the party. Further Security Report showed that Chief George Moghalu was placed in Labour Party to destroy their Chances and that was why Abure who is a Mole in Labour Party was used for the Political Transaction.
Just few days to the election, he totally sidelined All the Labour Party House of Assembly Members in the scheme of things. Even Mr Peter Obi was left in the cold. He simply opted to just vote as a responsible Citizen.
The results of the Election announced by Independent National Electoral Commission showed that Labour Party Candidate, Chief George Moghalu, lost his Polling Unit, ward and Local Government Area to APGA. This is the first of its kind. The only noticeable result for Labour Party was recorded by Senator Dr Tony Nwoye who proved his worth as a grassroot Politician. Now that Chief George Moghalu has been used to destroy Labour Party Chances of winning Anambra Election, what next?
