Apostle Suleman Urges Benue Residents to Defend Themselves Amid Ongoing Killings

Renowned Nigerian cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has made a bold call to the people of Benue State, urging them to take up self-defense in the face of ongoing violent attacks and what he describes as the failure of the federal government to provide adequate security.

In a strongly worded statement, Apostle Suleman condemned the continuous killings and destruction in Benue, calling the situation “evil, barbaric, and a mayhem.” He expressed dismay over what he sees as government inaction and misplaced political priorities.

“If the federal government knows it’s overwhelmed or its security architecture has failed, they should be humble enough to tell the citizens,” Suleman said. “Self-defense is enshrined in the constitution.”

He recalled warning residents of Jos and Benue in the past, insisting that Nigerians can no longer remain passive as lives are being lost. “We can’t watch this continue. People of Benue, defend yourselves,” he declared.

The fiery preacher also criticized political leaders for focusing on the 2027 elections while bloodshed continues across the country. “It’s ridiculous that people are thinking of 2027 whilst mayhem is being unleashed in 2025 on citizens they are supposed to govern. What happened to your humanity?” he questioned.
