Imo State Governor , Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has called on traditional rulers in Imo State to partner with the state Government in ensuring a peaceful and secure society for everyone
His Excellency the Governor , who spoke through his Deputy, Prof Placid Njoku at the security stakeholders meeting in Owerri today
called for all embracing approach wherein all stakeholders play their critical roles as peace was only achievable if everyone did what he should do, stating that the same paradigms exists for security and every other social necessity.
The meeting had in attendance the new Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Ekim Okon.
The Governor urged the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Nigerian Labour Congress, youth bodies in the state and even trade organisations to look up and play their roles in ensuring peace and security in Imo State
In analysing group and individual roles as the Government pushes for a peaceful and secure Imo State, the Governor noted that these criminals are neither primarily imported into our communities nor are they aliens who steal and disappear, stressing that they live and move around us in our various communities and are thus known to the people which makes it possible and Paramount to traditional institutions and other organizations to be in pole positions to notify Government for effective actions.
