Atiku Signs Deposition In N2.5b Suit Against Lauretta Onochie

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in Nigeria’s last general elections, Atiku Abubakar Tuesday perfected the signing of his written deposition on oath in  a N2.5 billion libel suit filled against an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie at the Abuja High Court in Maitama.

Onochie  is President Buhari’s special assistant on social media.

Atiku, a former Nigerian vice president, was seen physically at the court premises to sign his witness deposition on oath in the case.

In the case, which was initiated on June 26, Atiku  is asking the court for a whopping of N2.5bn from Onohie as general, aggravated, punitive and exemplary damages against her for her alleged defamatory story published on the social media where she claimed that Atiku was on the UAE watch list. He is also requesting for a retraction and an apology from the defendant, while equally praying the court to restrict her from further publications of that nature.
