Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman , has announced the rescue of a baby allegedly stolen at birth and sold for ₦4.5 million.
According to VeryDarkMan, the child’s mother visited his office, MVOI, on April 25, 2026, to report the incident. He said he immediately took the matter to the Special Tactical Squad (STS) Police Station in Guzape, Abuja, where the Commander of STS, ACP Victor, personally took interest in the case.
He explained that after listening to the mother’s complaint, a petition was drafted and forwarded to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Department (DIG FID), who approved an investigation into the matter.
VeryDarkMan stated that operatives of the STS moved to Imo State on April 26, where a suspect was arrested and later transferred to Abuja on April 27 for further investigation.
During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed that a lawyer had paid a total of ₦4.5 million for the baby. Following the confession, police operatives reportedly traveled to Lagos State, where the lawyer was arrested and the baby was rescued.
He added that the suspects and the child were brought back to Abuja, while authorities are now preparing for the formal handover of the baby to the biological mother.
