Bola Tinubu shows he is a human prone to mistakes

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban of Lagos State has cleared the air on his supposed advice for the president to recruit well over 50 million youth to tackle insecurity.

Recall that on Monday the Former Governor of Lagos state, while addressing his audience made up of the political elite who had all attended in honor of his 69th Birthday, Tinubu stated that the federal government should recruit 50 million youths into the Nigerian Army to help combat insurgency. Stating that the exercise will help in the restoration of peace and to deter Miscreant from recruiting the youth to do their bidding. This statement of course was heavily criticized by Nigerians young and old.

However, as a sign of good faith, The former governor who is the National leader of APC has proven that he is human by admitting he made a blunder in his address. Insisting that his recommendations were for Buhari to recruit 50,000 youths into different Security agencies which include, the Police force, Army, etc.

While speaking on Tuesday in admittance of his blunder, Tinubu stated: “Tinubu seeks the expanding of security personnel by Fifty thousand (50,000) not the 50 million that was mention previously in error. It was a verbal error of which we all commit from time to time especially when huge numerical figures are involved. Please pardon any complications due to this innocent error. The important thing is that he proposes a wise and timely strategy that would help us face two of today’s challenges.

“It is in the light of this that we hope you view his proposal for it aims to provide a way for more youths to contribute in building a greater, safer, and more prosperous country.”

Bola Tinubu’s humility is second to none especially in the way he handles this blunder that has caused a lot of debate and argument across Nigeria.
