The Football Association (FA) has imposed a £10 million fine and a suspended two-window transfer ban on Chelsea FC after the club admitted to multiple breaches of its football regulations.
According to an official FA statement, Chelsea was charged with 74 breaches of FA Rule E1.2, covering violations of the Football Agent Regulations, Regulations on Working with Intermediaries, and Third Party Investment in Players Regulations.
The breaches were self-reported by Chelsea’s current ownership following its takeover of the club.
Before an independent Regulatory Commission, Chelsea admitted to all 74 charges. The Commission initially imposed a six-point deduction, suspended until 30 June 2027, alongside the £10 million fine.
However, the club successfully appealed the suspended points deduction. An independent Appeal Board overturned that sanction and replaced it with a two-consecutive transfer window registration ban, which has also been suspended until 30 June 2027.
The FA confirmed that the £10 million fine remains in force and was not appealed. It added that the entire amount will be invested in grassroots football.
The FA also stated that its investigation into the conduct of individuals connected to the case is ongoing.
