A tanker fully loaded with 44,000 AGO was reported to be moving toward Berger along Lagos – Ibadan Expressway when a tyre of the tanker was reported to have caught fire on the Otedola bridge outward Lagos.
It was gathered the attention of the driver was called to the development by those around the area but he opted to reverse instead of stopping.
The driver, identified as Uche, said the lorry belongs to River State Government when interrogated by NEMA officials at the scene of the incident.
“I suddenly saw the tanker moving backward and hit a car with six occupants.
“Thankfully, the family, myself and the tanker driver, as well as my boy escaped.”
