
Ghana is in mourning following the tragic crash of a military helicopter on Wednesday, August 6, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region. All eight occupants on board the Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter were killed in the incident.

🕊️ Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah
The chopper was reportedly en route from Accra to Obuasi when it crashed under still-unclear circumstances. The Ghana Armed Forces and civil aviation authorities have launched a full investigation.
President John Mahama has described the incident as a “monumental national tragedy.” In response, the government has declared flags to be flown at half-mast nationwide in honour of the fallen.
