Buhari's Minister speaks on boycotting Abia APC caucus

Uchechukwu Ogah, the Minister of States Mines and Steel Development has berated malicious claims that he deliberately boycotted the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, caucus meeting held at the Igbere residence of a former Governor of the State and current Senate Majority Chief Whip, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu.

The Minister also decried alleged and viral media attacks against his person which he claimed, was aimed at sowing the seed of rancour within the rank of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State.

The former APC Governorship Candidate, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Demian Igbokwe, on Saturday, insisted that he is at peace with Senator Orji Kalu and bared no grudges against the APC Caucus Leader as being painted by never-to do-well disgruntled elements whose feed fat

The statement further said, “The said claim is nothing but a wicked attempt at causing a rift between the leaders of the APC in Abia State and to discredit Dr. Uche Ogah, in order to paint him in bad light before every right thinking person.

“It is a known fact that Dr. Uche Ogah has been busy churning out effective and impactful policies in the Mines and Steel Development of Nigeria, coupled also with his involvement in the national campaign trail of the APC, this was why he was absent at the Abia APC Caucus meeting held over the weekend at the residence of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

It added, “It is instructive to note that the inaugural APC caucus meeting held at Senator Kalu’s residence in Abuja had the Honourable Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah in attendance. The Honourable Minister of State has been in regular communication with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and other leaders and members of our party as regards the meeting. Thus, the said claim was in bad taste, malicious, condemnable, satanic and libelous. This wicked attempt has already failed”.
