Calls Grow for Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise to Produce Imo East Senator in 2027, Basil Maduka Endorsed

Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise

A renewed call has emerged for Ahiazu Mbaise and Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency to produce the next senator representing Imo East (Owerri Zone) in the 2027 general elections, with supporters arguing that the constituency deserves equitable representation in the Senate.

According to a statement issued by Media Consultant to Sir Basil Maduka, Comrade Ibeh C., Owerri Zone comprises four federal constituencies: Owerri North/Owerri West/Owerri Municipal, Mbaitoli/Ikeduru, Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala, and Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Mbaise.

The statement noted that since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte Mbaise have not produced a senator to represent Owerri Zone, while the other federal constituencies have each occupied the position at least once. It argued that the principles of equity, fairness, and justice support the emergence of a candidate from Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise in 2027.

The group threw its weight behind Sir Basil Maduka, describing him as a seasoned businessman, philanthropist, and Labour Party aspirant with the experience and national network required to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.

According to the statement, Maduka has empowered numerous youths and women through job creation, educational support, overseas opportunities, and other humanitarian interventions. It added that his background in the oil and gas sector positions him to attract investments, promote economic growth, expand employment opportunities, and champion policies that will improve education and youth empowerment across Imo East Senatorial District.

While acknowledging the aspiration of Mbaise people to produce the next governor of Imo State, the statement maintained that securing the Imo East Senate seat in 2027 would be a strategic step toward achieving broader political objectives for the area.

The statement concluded by urging political stakeholders and residents of Owerri Zone to set aside political differences and support Sir Basil Maduka’s candidacy, describing the 2027 election as an opportunity to restore fairness and ensure inclusive representation in the district.

The statement was signed by Comrade Ibeh C., Media Consultant to Sir Basil Maduka and Security Expert.
