According to Tara Frank, “people don’t get promoted for doing their jobs really well. They get promoted by demonstrating their potential to do more.” But, the case of Dr(now Associate Professor) Chuka Enuka seem to have positively defied this saying. As he has so masterfully done his job really well over the years while demonstrating an unassuming potential to do even more.
Here’s the current Head of Department of History and International Relations, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Here’s an authority in International Relations with special knack on War and peace, foreign policy analysis and contemporary International History. A man that have been literally “professing” over the years even without the badge. Because, according to Wilbert Mckcachie, “Professors known as outstanding lecturers do two things, they use a simple plan and many examples.”
Here’s a typical educator in the mode and description of Nicholas Ferroni who posited, “educators are the only people who lose sleep over other people’s children”. Surprised on his declaration during his early academic sojourn of, “give me a chalk or I die.”?
Here’s a man whose passion for the classroom and teaching techniques laced with seamless dishing out of international relations theories even without a paper is unequalled.
Here’s a man who have to his credit over 70 academic publications; A man who has to his credit, the graduation of PG students on record time while he served as the Coordinator of Post Graduate Program in the Department of History and International Relations. Here’s a man who has to his credit, the penchant for mentoring and spuring even undergraduates to research and publish in respectable academic journals. Here’s a man who holds the championship belt as a core disciplinarian yet, the most jovial among students and staff. Here’s a man with a gentle mien but no nonsense disposition.
Here’s a man from whose intellectual well many have drank from and much more are still drinking from. A man that belongs to the breed of a fast vanishing intellectual giants with practical innate ability to impact knowledge within and outside the confines of the four corner walls.
Hearty Felicitations to you, Chuka Enuka as you’ve been promoted to the rank of an Associate Professor in the Department of History and International Relations, Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
You’re indeed a man clad with Grace.
The community of intellectuals and aspiring intellectuals loves and celebrates you, as always.
My Respect, Prof.
