The whereabouts of Jordan Wike on the date an alleged $2.1 million land payment was said to have been made have become a key issue in proceedings before an FCT High Court in Maitama.
Justice Sylvanus Oriji on Tuesday ordered the son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to produce his American international passport after Jordan told the court that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025.
The date is significant to the case because the claimants, Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, allege that they handed Jordan $2.1 million on that day in connection with the proposed acquisition of land in Katampe and Guzape, Abuja.
During cross-examination, counsel to the claimants, Hamza Dantani, asked Jordan where he was on September 26, 2025. Jordan reportedly told the court that he was not in Nigeria and that he travelled using his American passport.
When asked whether he could produce the passport, he indicated that he could if required.
Dantani subsequently applied for the document to be produced in court, prompting Justice Oriji to grant the request.
Jordan, who adopted his statement on oath during Tuesday’s proceedings, denied the allegations and maintained that he had no knowledge of the transaction alleged by the claimants. He was represented by a legal team led by Ogwu Onoja, SAN.
The suit, marked CV/008/2026, was instituted by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.
The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape and subsequently demanded $2.1 million.
They further allege that the money was paid in cash and that the proposed land transaction was not completed.
The allegations remain contested, with Jordan denying the claims.
The court has adjourned the matter until Wednesday for continuation of the trial, when the passport is expected to be produced.
