Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is seeking recognition in multiple categories at the 2027 Grammy Awards, with his sixth studio album, Oriade, and several collaborations submitted for consideration.
The submissions, disclosed by The Grammy Guru on its X page on Tuesday, cover major categories, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Global Music Album and Best African Music Performance.
Davido’s album, Oriade, was reportedly submitted in four categories: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and Best Album Cover.
His song B4 B4, featuring Mayorkun and FOLA, is also in contention for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
Another collaboration, Nakupenda, featuring TxC, Zlatan, Shoday, Scotts Maphuma and Al Xapo, was submitted for Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.
Meanwhile, Le Show, featuring Ayra Starr and French Montana, was entered in the Best African Music Performance category, while I Know Who I Be, featuring JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, was submitted for Best Music Video.
The entries come as the Recording Academy begins its first-round voting for the 2027 Grammy Awards, scheduled to run from October 12 to October 22.
The nominees for the 69th edition of the awards are expected to be announced on November 16, with the ceremony scheduled for February 7, 2027.
Davido previously earned Grammy nominations at the 66th edition in 2024 for his album Timeless and the songs Unavailable and Feel.
The latest submissions could provide another opportunity for the singer to compete for recognition on one of the world’s biggest music award platforms, alongside other Nigerian and African artistes seeking to expand the continent’s presence on the global music scene.
However, submissions do not guarantee nominations, as entries must go through the Recording Academy’s review and voting process before the final nominees are determined.
