A deadly attack by heavily armed terrorists struck Sabon Layi community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday evening, triggering panic and mass displacement among residents.
According to multiple local reports, the assault began shortly before sunset around 6:00 p.m., with gunmen reportedly invading the community and opening fire on residents as people fled for safety.
Sources also claimed that another group of attackers on motorbikes approached the Low-cost area from the direction of Zatex Company, fueling fears that the assault was coordinated from multiple directions.
Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, President of the Berom Youths Moulder-Association, described the incident as an invasion by “hundreds of heavily armed terrorist gangs” and called for urgent security intervention.
