Residents were captured on video collecting fuel from a leaking tanker in the City Gate area of Asaba, Delta State, despite the risk of a possible explosion.
Footage shared on X on Thursday showed scores of people arriving at the scene with buckets, jerrycans and other containers to gather the fuel spilling from the tanker.
The crowd reportedly gathered after the tanker developed a leak, with many residents taking advantage of the situation to collect the escaping fuel.
The incident has sparked fresh concerns over public safety, as similar tanker fuel spill incidents have led to fatal explosions in several parts of Nigeria.
