The APGA leading governorship aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra state gubernatorial election Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo on Saturday called on ndi Anambra to use the opportunity that Easter provided to show love to one another and make sacrifices for the overall good of the society.
In his Easter message, signed by his Director on Media, Dr. Harris Chuma Odili, the governorship hopeful said it was through love and sacrifice that they could uphold Christ’s legacy of service to humanity.
He said the season should compel them to review and reflect on their roles in promoting and sustaining that foundation of love and peace that Christ laid; and added that it was also a time to show more commitment to the development of the society.
“Therefore, as we celebrate the Easter in sober recollection of Christ’s crucifixion, let us think about how we can each help to steer our state back on the road to peace, by working in the spirit of oneness,” he said.
Nze Nwankpo thanked ndi Anambra for the understanding they had demonstrated to one another over the years irrespective of their religious, political and other differences, and pointed out that this had ensured mutual love, peace and care for one another.
He nonetheless ,implored them to shun acts that could undermine the peace and development of the state, charging them to be vigilant, security conscious, abide by laws and demonstrate acts that pointed to moral rectitude.
He concluded “This Easter, whatever our faith, let us come together as a people confident in our values, and united in our commitment to fulfil the obligations that we have to one another.
Let us work together to build that brighter future we want for our dear state. And let us together build a stronger family, fairer Anambra that truly does work for everyone. And let me wish you all a very happy Easter.”
