Ebonyi 2023: Top 3 PDP Aspirants Likely To Succeed Governor David Umahi

Ahead of the 2023 Governorship Race, The scramble for the Ebonyi State PDP Governorship Ticket has commenced in earnest as Political Bigwigs in the opposition party have decleared their intention to Succeed Governor David Umahi whose tenure ‘ll elapse on the 29th of May, 2023. Notable among them are

1. Senator Joseph Obinna Ogba

2023: Exposing Game Plots to Displace Egwu, Ogba, Nnachi, Igariwey, Others  from National Assembly

Ogba, 59 started his Career as a Football Referee, in 1995, he was appointed as Chairman of Nigeria Football Referee Council, Anambra State Chapter, a position he held until 1997. He went into Politics in 1098 and was elected as Chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area. Between 1999 and 2002, Ogba was the Chairman of Ebonyi Angels Football Club, he subsequently served as Ebonyi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports from 2002 to 2003. In 2015, He was elected to represent Ebonyi Central Senatorial District in the Senate under the PDP platform. Ogba won a re-election during the 2019 General Elections. He currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports.

2. Hon. Edwin Anayo


Born on the 10th of October, 1976. Popularly known as Anatex, He hails from Ezza, Ebonyi State. Hon. Anayo is an Administrator and Politician currently representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency of Ebonyi in the House of Representatives. Prior to his Election into the National Assembly in 2015, He was the MD of Anatex Multi-lines Limited. Hon. Anayo subsequently worked with the Bayelsa State Government as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Non-indigene Affairs. In March 2015, He was elected under the PDP platform to represent Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

3. Hon. Sylvester Ogbaga

Hon. Ogbaga began his career at Local Government Service Commission, Abakaliki where he worked as a teacher from February 20th, 1985 to 1987. From 1995 to 1998, he worked at a Health Instructor and Sports Coordinator. In 1999 he was elected Chairman of Abakiliki Local Government Area and served in that capacity until 2002. He simultaneously served as Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Ebonyi State Chapter. In 2011, Hon. Ogbaga was elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Abakaliki/Izzi Constituency of Ebonyi State. Ogbaga, a Third-term Lawmaker won re-elections in 2015 and 2019.
