The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Marcus Onobun has condemned the attack, looting and vandalization of the warehouse at the Central Medical Store, Uselu in Egor Local Government Area.
This was as the Speaker and other members of the State Assembly took an assessment tour of the facility to ascertain the level of damage done.
The Speaker said the legislature was prepared to support and collaborate with the State government in every capacity to reduce the impact of the damage on the people.
The lawmaker said the visits had become necessary following the invasion of the warehouse which saw the looting of COVID 19 palliatives and other medical items.
The Speaker was shocked at the level of damage done to the facility which was home to vaccines for children and other high end equipment.
The State Commissioner for Health, Patrick Okundia said the loss was colossal; even though he had not finished taking full inventory.
The Speaker appealed to the looters to return all the medical items in their possession while calling on youths in the State to shun violence and stop vandalising public and private property.
