Enugu 2023: 2 Politicians That May Emerge As PDP Governorship Candidate

Ahead of Enugu 2023 Governorship election, some PDP Chieftains has set to slug it out for the party’s Governorship ticket. Notable among them are:

1. Ike Ekweremadu

Ike Ekweremadu ,59, is a trained lawyer turned politician, he began his political career in 1997 as Chairman of Aninri Local Government Area and later appointed as the Chief of Staff to the Enugu State Government House in 1999. He’s the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District at the National Assembly since June 2003. He was a three term Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, the position he held between June 2007 and June 2019.

2. Gilbert Nnaji

Gilbert Emeka Nnaji was born on July 18, 1966. He hails in Amorji Nike in Enugu State and he is a former Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District at the National Assembly. Gilbert Nnaji began his career in politics as the Chairman of the Enugu East Local Government from 1997 to 1998. He was a two term member of the Federal House of Representative and he was the Deputy House Leader, the position he held while at the Federal House of Representative.
