The allegation emerged in a video circulating on social media, in which a man claimed that commercial tricycle operators who failed to attend the rally could be made to pay fines ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦25,000.
According to the man in the video, keke riders who did not participate in the rally risked facing financial penalties, a claim that has generated questions about the alleged treatment of commercial transport operators in the state.
The allegation has also sparked debate among residents over whether commercial tricycle operators are being compelled to participate in political activities against their will.
Some residents have expressed concern about the reported fines, arguing that attendance at political rallies should be voluntary and should not become a condition for commercial operators to carry out their daily activities.
