The Etsako Central Council Chairman, Comrade John Osi Akhigbe, made this remark today during a visit to the Local Government by Edo State Unity Torch, delegate from the State Government for the preparation of Edo sport festival.
Speaking at the Local Government Headquarter in Fugar, the delegates thanked the Chairman for his interest in sports, time and patience waiting for their arrival which is a strong indication that the Council Chairman takes business seriously. He said that this has confirmed the Council’s Boss statement that the Local Government was doing well in all aspects.
The elated Chairman Akhigbe as a wise man who have seen the benefit derivable from sports development appreciated the delegates and applauded Governor Obaseki for the initiative. The Council Boss boosted for a class apart at State Sports Festival and reiterated his support for Obaseki/Shaibu stressing that sport will unite Edo people which mean that “4+4” is assured.
The delegates also posed for photos with the Council Boss holding a light up torch as a formal notice for the sport event which has been scheduled to hold 10th February, 2020.
In another Development, Etsako Central Council Chairman, Comrade John Osi Akhigbe received in his office the Nigeria Erosion Watershed management project (NEWMAP).
Dr Tom Obaseki, a member of Nigeria Erosion Watershed management project (NEWMAP) said the mission of the visit was to address the threat posed by the failed portion of the Fugar Agenebode Road which has a very big hole that scares away road users. Dr Tom also solicited for the Chairman support in the aspect of security as the work was about to begin.
In a response the Chairman said that Etsako Central was the safest Local Government Area in Edo State assuring them of adequate security during work. He further encouraged them to go about the job without any fear as they are in a peaceful Local Government where Kidnapping or Arm robber is non-existent.
