FCCPC Seals Paradise Estate Abuja Over Housing Complaints

Paradise Estate

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has taken regulatory action against Paradise Estate following multiple consumer complaints related to housing delivery failures.

In a statement, the Commission said its intervention was triggered by allegations from buyers who claimed they had fully paid for properties within the estate but were yet to receive the homes promised to them.

FCCPC emphasized that consumer protection extends beyond routine retail transactions to include significant financial commitments such as housing, where Nigerians often invest their life savings based on developers’ assurances.

According to the Commission, businesses must uphold transparency and accountability in all dealings. It stressed that developers are obligated to honour agreed timelines, provide clear explanations for any delays, and offer lawful remedies where contractual obligations are not met.

“Where payment has been received, agreed timelines must be honoured, delays properly explained, and lawful remedies provided where obligations are unmet,” the statement noted.

The agency added that confidence in Nigeria’s housing sector depends on transparency, honest communication, proper documentation, and strict adherence to commitments made to buyers.

FCCPC also urged affected consumers to submit relevant documents, including proof of payment and correspondence, through its official complaints portal for further review and action.
