Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has thrown a bold challenge to the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), questioning his popularity and defending his own public record.
In a fiery statement, Amaechi proposed a symbolic walk from the airport to Port Harcourt city without police escorts, daring the FCT Minister to join him in the public eye.
“Let the Minister of the FCT and I take a walk from the Airport to Port Harcourt without police escorts and let’s see what will happen. We will see who is more popular,” Amaechi said.
He further dismissed insinuations about his wealth, saying he did not enrich himself while in office like some current political figures.
“He is junior to me. I hardly stole money the way they are stealing money. I don’t have houses like the number they have,” Amaechi added.
