As political momentum builds ahead of the August 16 Anambra South Senatorial by-election, Nigeria’s first female governor and former Anambra State leader, Dame Virgy Etiaba, has openly endorsed the candidacy of Sir Azuka Okwuosa (Chinyelugo), the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer.
Okwuosa, regarded as the front-runner in the race, visited Madubugwu Villa, Umudim Nnewi, the residence of Dame Etiaba, to pay homage, seek blessings, and engage in an interactive session. He was warmly received by the former governor and her son, Ben Etiaba (Ife Anambra).
In her remarks, Dame Etiaba expressed confidence in Okwuosa’s capacity to provide effective representation for Anambra South at the National Assembly, describing him as a man of integrity with the political experience to deliver results.
The meeting forms part of Okwuosa’s final campaign push as the APC intensifies efforts to secure victory at the polls.
“Zukky is coming, and APC Anambra is leaving no stone unturned,” campaign sources declared.
