Former Nollywood actress Belinda Effah has officially begun a new chapter in her life, trading the bright lights of the film industry for a disciplined life of service in the United States Navy.
The actress, now a proud U.S. Navy Sailor, shared the emotional milestone with fans and followers, revealing that she also took the oath of citizenship as a new American. In a heartfelt statement, Belinda reflected on her journey:
“First, all glory to God. Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States.
This journey wasn’t easy — but I carried my roots, my faith, and my vision every step of the way.
Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me. This is just the beginning.”
Belinda also dedicated her achievement to her late father, Naval Commander Asido Bassey Effah, underscoring the personal significance of her new path.
