Nigerian broadcaster and political commentator, Rufai Oseni, has expressed concern over the rapid increase in fuel prices, questioning the government’s handling of the economic challenges facing citizens following subsidy removal.
Speaking on the development this morning, Oseni said he personally observed a sudden hike in fuel price during a visit to a filling station.
“I went to the fueling station to get fuel this morning and it turns out from N1,225, the price has gone up to N1,335. The price went up in the space of one day,” he said.
He further questioned the impact of government policies on ordinary Nigerians, especially in the wake of subsidy removal.
“My question is, with all the subsidy being pulled out by the government, what have you done to stop the people from facing head on these challenges that the economy is bringing to them?” he asked.
Fuel price adjustments have remained a recurring issue since the removal of petrol subsidy, with consumers frequently reporting sharp and unpredictable increases across different locations in the country.
