A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Buba Galadima, has alleged that some lawmakers are being offered millions of naira and other incentives to abandon their political ambitions and make way for candidates backed by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Galadima claimed that members of state Houses of Assembly who agree to forfeit their tickets in favour of APC candidates are being offered ₦50 million, while members of the House of Representatives are allegedly being offered ₦200 million and a car.

Every member of the House of Assembly who agrees to forfeit his ticket for the APC candidate is currently being given N50 million, and the House of Reps will be given N200 million with a car,” Galadima said.

He further alleged that money was being distributed at the Carlton Hotel in Asokoro, Abuja, claiming that a woman was coordinating the alleged distribution and that personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) were providing security at the location.

Galadima also accused President Bola Tinubu and APC governors of allegedly seeking to avoid competitive elections by ensuring that preferred candidates face little or no opposition.
