Gov-Ugwuanyi Dissolves LGA Chairmen

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State Tuesday dissolved all the Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The governor who met with the chairmen at the Enugu Government House commended their efforts and thanked them for serving the people at the grassroots creditably.
The action marks the end of the first tenure of the chairmen who were sworn-in on December 4, 2017.
The dissolution gives room for the appointment of caretaker committees to take charge of the Council areas until the conduct of LGA elections in a few months time.
In his usual manner of consulting with major stakeholders before appointments, the governor has scheduled a meeting today, Wednesday, with Enugu East Senatorial District as he moves to put in place an interim Council administration.
The meeting continues with other senatorial zones as lobbying for the council positions heats up.
Speaking to Everyday News the Enugu State ALGON Chairman Chief Frank Ugwu said his colleagues are thankful to God for the successful completion of their first tenure.
Ugwu who held sway in Udenu Local Government Area for the past two years said, “it was an opportunity to serve and we thank God for a successful tenure. We also thank His Excellency Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his support.”
On his part, Chief Chukwudi Ezinwa of Ezzeagu Local Government expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through to the end of a successful tenure.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and all the good people of Ezzeagu Local Government Area for the opportunity to serve and for their support and cooperation.
